To wrap up its record-breaking season full of press favorites and Houston premieres, 4th Wall Theatre Company is delighted to share Pulitzer finalist Collected Stories by Donald Margulies. This intimate drama looks at the lives of two writers, focusing on their friendship, ambitions, rivalries, and betrayals.
Ruth Steiner is an established Jewish scribe from Greenwich Village, famous for her short stories. Ruth wants to share her knowledge and passion with the next generation of authors, but when Lisa Morrison arrives, Ruth may have got more than she bargained for. Should Lisa get away with writing on the experiences to catapult her own career? The results are the crackling dialogue and sweeping themes that won Collected Stories the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best New Play and made the New York Post claim, “This is probably Margulies' best play to date.”
4th Wall Theatre Company is a professional equity theatre founded in 2011. 4th Wall has maintained an eclectic range of programming, producing classics by Shakespeare and Strindberg, American classics like "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," and several world premieres. The company has garnered many accolades for its twenty-three full productions, including the Houston Press's "Mastermind Award," as well as two Best Production citations in the annual Houston Press Awards.
