Allow the Most Enduring Melodies of Classical Music to Fill Your Ears This Weekend

Presenting the most classical performances in town, Houston Symphony inspires and engages a large and diverse audience in Greater Houston and beyond through exceptional orchestral and non-orchestral performances, educational programs and community activities. On January 6, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue will take center stage.

Saucy as the city streets, majestic as a city skyline, Rhapsody in Blue’s iconic opening and unforgettable melodies make it one of the most enduringly popular works in all of classical music. Hear the original jazz band version, alongside Ravel’s bluesy, dreamy Concerto in G as Jeffrey Kahane plays and conducts this program of symphonic gems with a French twist and a Jazz Age flair.

Jeffrey Kahane will be the conductor and pianist for this event. Before the show, guests can attend the Prelude pre-concert discussion, held 45 minutes prior to each Classical concert. Tickets are available for purchase via the Houston Symphony website starting at $45.

The Heights at Park Row, an extraordinary blend of comfortable and convenient apartments in Houston, Texas, would like to remind our friends and neighbors of this event! Make the most out of your free time and check it out before it’s too late.
